Punta Arenas: New Year's Day, 1914
« Punta Arenas» vs. «
All Patagonia»
Encouraged by the excellent weather which we have been experiencing
this summer, the Rev: J. C. Cater and Mr. Wrinch, of Rio Seco, got together
two XI's in order to play a match on New Year's Day and accordingly a start
was made on the ground of the British Sports Club shortly after 2 p. m.
«All Patagonia», captained by Mr. Wrinch, won the
toss and elected to bat, putting together the respectable total of 74 in about
an hour and a half. «The Colony» then followed but they were unable
to reach the excellent score made by their opponents, their wickets going
down for 50 runs.
