Christopher SMITH, b. 1843 Moffat, Dumfries-shire; 8th of ten children of Wilhelmina & Peter SMITH, sheep-farm manager, of Eskdalemuir, Dumfries-shire; 1852 to Falkland Islands where father and older brothers had obtained employment with FIC; 1861 living at Darwin Harbour; 1895 following death of son Peter, helped develop his farm at Coy Inlet, Prov. Santa Cruz; 1911 living in Keenagh, Co. Longford; d. 1927 East Preston, Sussex

Elizabeth HARRISON, b. 1842? Co. Longford, Ireland; d. 1918 Stanley, Falklands [Malvinas]

Children (all born Darwin, Falkland Islands [Malvinas]):
1. Peter, b. 1868; 1887 working with Thomas GREENSHIELDS at Monte Dinero, Straits of Magellan; later with RUDDs at Cape Fairweather; 1892 drove horses and sheep 2,000km from Bahía Blanca and Chubut to Coy Inlet; 1893 obtained land at Coy Inlet (see SMITH—CAREY, below)
