Hernán Jofré freezer plant and Villa Bories

The freezing works and pier appear in the foreground of this aerial view, taken from above Last Hope Sound. In its heyday, the plant had an annual production capacity of 300,000 sheep. The plant was originally larger than appears here, but several buildings have disappeared since its closure. What remains has been designated a National Monument. Report of a visit (1925).
